High School Chorus Concert
On May 14, Farmingdale High School students with the mixed chorus, symphonic band and string orchestra will take the stage at 7 p.m. for a performance at the school auditorium.
Concerned Citizens Association of Farmingdale
On May 14, the Concerned Citizens of Farmingdale will be meeting at 7:30 p.m., at Allen Park, on Motor Ave. in Farmingdale, to discuss the South Farmingdale Fire Commissioners’ referendum on its exisisting length of service awards program (LOSAP).

Gracious Vine Visits JC Cafe
On May 17, Farmingdale United Methodist Church at 407 Main St. in Farmingdale, welcomes Gracious Vine, a popular worship band, well-known for their passionate vocals and lyrical theology. Beautification Committee
On May 17, members of the Farmingdale Village Beautification Committee need volunteers to help hang flower baskets and plant flowers along Main Street and the Village Green. All residents are invited and encouraged to volunteer to help beautify our Village. Bring your trowels and gardening gloves. Refreshments will be served.

Board of Trustees Work Session
The next public work session of the Village of Farmingdale Board of Trustees will be held on May 19, at 7 p.m. inside village hall, at 361 Main St. in Farmingdale.

School Budget / Board Elections
On May 20, registered voters can cast their ballots on the school budget. Farmingdale currently proposes a $156.4 million budget, which comes with a 1.74 percent increase in the tax levy, this year.

Farmingdale High School’s Italian Honor Society will hold a ceremony on May 21, at 5:30 p.m., in the school commons for students entering with honors this year.

Legends of Airpower Weekend
Starting on May 23, the American Airpower Museum at 1230 New Highway in Farmingdale, will honor WWII veterans with a special ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
Saturday, May 24
Bethpage Airshow
From May 24-25, the Bethpage Air Show will be bringing back the world-renowned U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs, who are making their second appearance since 2007, and the MV-22 Osprey, which will be performing at the Bethpage Airshow for the first time. Civilian performers include the American Airpower Museum Warbirds, the GEICO Skytypers, the Miss GEICO Speedboat, Sean D. Tucker with Team Oracle, Lt. Col. John Klatt of the National Guard Reserve, Matt Chapman with Embry Riddle, David Windmiller, the Red Bull Air Force, and the John Klatt Airshows Screamin’ Sasquatch Jet Waco Aerobatic Team, who will also be making their debut to the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach. The air show will run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Memorial Day weekend at Jones Beach State Park. Admission is free to the public, $10 for parking.

Memorial Day Parade
On May 26, the Village of Farmingdale will honor the troops with its annual Memorial Day Parade down Main Street. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of Thomas Powell Blvd. and Yoakum St., and will proceed south down Main St. to the grandstand in front of Village Hall.
