Paul D. Schreiber High School students recently participated in the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair, a competition that gives high school students the opportunity to present projects to professionals in respective subject areas.
Harry Paul captured first place with his project in engineering: materials and bioengineering. He has advanced to the International Science and Engineering Fair, the world’s largest international pre-college science competition, which will take place in Los Angeles in May.
Also at the fair, Justin Calamari (physics and astronomy), Simon Shapiro (medicine and health sciences) and Noah White (animal sciences) placed second.
Matthew Brandes (engineering: electrical and mechanical) placed third, while Michaela Gawley (behavioral and social sciences), Alia Sani (behavioral and social sciences) and Julia Zeh (cellular and molecular biology) earned honorable mentions.
In addition, Priyanka Ninan received honorable mention for her biology project in the junior varsity fair.
