On Wednesday, June 25 the Run Start program – designed for those who have been meaning to try running but haven’t been sure how get started – will kick off on the track at Bethpage High School at 6:30 p.m. The program will be conducted by the Greater Long Island Running Club, and it will run on 10 consecutive Wednesday evenings, leading up to participation in the Farmingdale Mile on Aug. 30.
Under the guidance of USA Track & Field Association certified coaches Deborah Blair, Ed Melnik and Bob Cook, and sports injury prevention specialist Dr. Steven Jonas, beginners will be taught how to get started and train properly.
