On Tuesday, November 4th, Joe Lorintz, a Jericho resident for 31 years, will be seeking election as a Judge of the Family Court of the State of New York for Nassau County. Lorintz was nominated by the Nassau County Democratic Committee at its annual convention held at the Cradle of Aviation on May 27. The Nassau County Bar Association has found him to be “Well Qualified” to serve as a Judge of the Family Court.
Since January 2007, Lorintz has served as the Principal Law Clerk to a NYS Supreme Court Justice, assigned to handle family, matrimonial and civil matters. He is highly regarded as a knowledgeable, forthright, fair and helpful member of the Court system. Prior to his appointment in the Supreme Court, Joe was in private practice for over 23 years. His practice concentrated in the areas Family and Matrimonial Law, real estate and civil litigation.
Joe has also been a tireless community leader on Long Island for many years. He has served his community in many capacities. He is the long-time President of the Oakwood Princeton Park Civic Association and the United Civic Associations of North Oyster Bay. He has been a Trustee of the Jericho School Board since 2004, serving as its Vice-President and President. Joe Lorintz also served as Chair of the Oyster Bay Town Environmental Control Commission.
The Long Island Sierra Club, the Jericho/Brookville Lions Club, Vision Long Island, the Old Westbury College Foundation, the Long Island Works Coalition and the Syosset-Woodbury Rotary Club have all recognized Joe Lorintz for his environmental and community efforts.
