Walk In Registrations For Summer Camps Now Accepted
The recreation department camps are filling up quickly. Please visit the recreation and parks office at 108 Rockaway Ave. to pick up a summer camp brochure or to register for any of these camps. Credit cards will now be accepted. You can also download a brochure and applications by visiting www.gardencityrecreation.org
Recreation Sports Camps Still Open
Sports camps in lacrosse, baseball, and softball are still open for this summer with several weeks of each offered. Baseball and lacrosse are open to village residents entering 1st through 6th grades and softball camp is open to residents entering 4th through 7th grades.
Summer Concert Schedule
Garden City’s Department of Recreation and Parks is happy to announce the schedule of its concert series “Summer Music on the Village Green.” The concert series will be held at the gazebo on the corner of Stewart and Hilton Avenues. Concerts are held on Thursdays beginning at 7:15 pm. The schedule is as follows:

The Garden City Recreation Department will this year again be offering discount tickets to area amusement parks. Tickets can be purchased at the recreation office at 108 Rockaway Ave. Cash or check will be accepted for payment. These very popular discounted tickets are for:

Spring/Summer Adult Tennis Registration Forms Available
The Garden City Recreation Department will conduct evening tennis lessons for adults who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City at the Community Park tennis facility. The lessons will run for one hour each week in three sessions during the spring/summer months. The registrant has a choice of a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday class and a choice of time. There will be a maximum of four players per court. The dates and fees will be as follows:
Session 1 – 8 weeks began April 21 Cost: $240
(Session 1 will also include Ultimate Workout on Saturdays, 1.5 hours at a cost of $240 for seven weeks)
Session 2 – 4 weeks beginning July 7 Cost: $120
Session 3 – 4 weeks beginning August 4 Cost: $120
To register, a form will need to be filled out and returned with payment to the recreation department’s administrative offices at 108 Rockaway Ave. Please note, a separate check for each session is need at time of registration.
Summer Camps For The Younger Child
The recreation and parks office offers one-week summer camps for the younger child too. “Parent and Me” camps for ages 2-3, and soccer, multi-sport, tennis, lacrosse, and preschool camps are offered for ages 4-6.
Each camp is usually 45 minutes to two hours long, depending on the camp and all camps run in one week sessions from Monday to Thursday. These camps are open to residents of the inc. Village of Garden City only.
Summer Language Camps For Ages 7-11
Did you know that the recreation and parks office is offering language camps this summer? Residents ages 7–11 are invited to join the following camps:
Italian Camp July 7-10
French Camp July 14–17
Spanish Camp July 21–24
Each 4-day camp begins at 9:45 a.m. and runs until noon. These camps are run by Berlitz and will cost $186 for each week.
