Editorial: Summer Time, Summer Time

School’s out and summer is here. Which of course means that both the Garden City and Stewart Manor pools are open for business. The former is going into its 58th season and there’s a reason why it’s become such a village mainstay. The membership level is affordable for everyone and its a place where lifeguard classes are offered, swimming lessons are offered, you can try out for the swim team and there’s an Early Bird Swim Club available for folks who want to get their stroke on earlier in the day. Most importantly, it’s a safe haven for families looking for a little sun and fun. Not to be outdone, the Stewart Manor Pool and its relatively inexpensive dues has a wealth of activities for members that include Ice Cream Sundae Night, movie nights, water Olympics, a talent show, karaoke and bagel Sundays along with swim lessons and swim team tryouts. It all adds up to the stuff that memories are made of.
