Beginning on Monday, June 30 the Floral Park Recreation Center’s day time hours will be filled with exciting and organized activities for children of all ages. Preschool, ages 3 through 5, Arts and Crafts, grades 1st through 6, and Primary Recreation Program, ages 3 through 5, and Morning Sports. The first week of Morning Sports are basketball for boys and cheerleading/kickball for girls. A special late registration table will be set up in front of the shelter house. In the afternoon, boys and girls grades 4 and above can participate in afternoon “Tennie-ball” on Field 2. Every Wednesday is Bingo from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. under the arts and crafts shelter.
At night, the Recreation Center becomes the “Hub of Floral Park” when over-50 adult teams gear up for competitive and recreational play in both the basketball and volleyball leagues, Mondays through Thursday nights. Players enjoy exercising and competing with friends and neighbors throughout the summer months.
On Saturday, June 28, the Floral Park Pool switches over to their official summer hours of operation which are from 10 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Limited openings still remain for Saturday morning Boot Camp, aerobics, slimnastics and zumba programs. Interested Village of Floral Park residents and pool members may register at the Floral Park pool, Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Residents are reminded of some of the park rules, including that there are no bicycles, animals, alcohol, smoking, or music devices permitted in the facility or parking lots at any time. A resident VFP Leisure Pass is required for the use of facilities, equipment, and registrations at all times.
