Town Supervisor and the North Hempstead Town Board are excited to announce the FREE North Hempstead Summer Film Series. The Town will be showing movies on July 29, August 15, and August 23 at parks throughout the town.
“With summer upon us, the Town of North Hempstead invites residents from all over the town to join us for our free summer movie series spanning from July 29 to August 23. These movie experiences are a great way to enjoy a beautiful summer night with the family,” said Supervisor Bosworth.
On Tuesday, July 29, at 8:45 p.m., the film “Million Dollar Baby” will be screened at the beautiful Clark Botanic Garden in Albertson. The film features Clint Eastwood and Hillary Swank, and won four academy awards; including Best Picture.
Friday, August 15, at 8 p.m., “The Rookie” will be at Martin “Bunky” Reid Park in New Cassel. The film, which stars Dennis Quaid, is about the true story of a high school teacher who makes it to the Major Leagues at the age of 40.
The last movie in the series will be on Saturday, August 23 at 7:45 p.m. The movie “Frozen” will be screened at North Hempstead Beach Park, and it will be set up as an old-fashioned drive-in movie. The popular 2013 Disney movie won the Academy Award for Best Animated Film, and the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film. Sit in your car or bring a lawn chair to watch the film.
