Taylor Traenkle, a junior at Division Avenue High School recently received the MVP award for the Nassau County Varsity Hockey League Association.
Traenkle, who plays no. 9 for the Levittown Ice Falcons, led the way averaging 2.8 points a game with a total of 25 goals and 23 assists in just 17 games.
The Falcons finished with an overall record of 14-2-2 in the regular season and finished at the top of their division.
Traenkle currently leads the county in points with 48 points in the season. With a combination of speed and toughness paired with his ability to create offensive plays as well as land bone crushing hits when the team needs a spark, Traenkle is a force to be reckoned with on the ice.
He said that his success, this season, would not have been possible without the help of his fellow teammates and coaches and that he looks forward to next year’s season to bring home the championship.
