Erik’s Reptile Edventures
On July 30, come to Levittown Hall, 201 Levittown Pkwy. in Hicksville, at 10:30 a.m., for this free “Edventure” designed to teach youngsters about the importance of science and nature and learn more about reptiles, amphibians and bugs.

Rich Vos At Governor’s
On Aug. 1-2, join comedian Rich Vos as he takes the stage for three performances at Governor’s Comedy Club at 90 Division Ave. in Levittown. Admission is 18 and over. Tickets cost $15-$47. Doors open at 8 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday.

Worship Without Walls

Outdoor Movie in Wantagh
On Aug. 2, at 7:30 p.m., bring your family and friends to the back lawn of the Wantagh Memorial Congregational Church for a showing of The LEGO Movie. Rated PG, 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Admission is free, with parking provided in the municipal parking lot behind the church at 1845 Wantagh Ave. Remember to bring your own chairs and/or blankets. There will also be snacks and concessions available for purchase.
Also, donations of non-perishable food are requested, but not required. All donations go to the food pantry that is run by the Long Island Council of Churches. In case of inclement weather, please call the church at 785-1829 for status. There is no rain date at this time. If necessary, it will be announced at a later date.

Levittown Chamber of Commerce
The next meeting of the Levittown Chamber of Commerce will be held on Aug. 4, from 8-10 a.m. at Astoria Federal Savings Bank in Levittown.
Irish American Night
On Aug. 4, come to the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, at 7:30 p.m. for a free performance of some traditional Irish music. Feel free to bring blankets and chairs as this is an outdoor event.

New Vintage Big Band
On Aug. 6, join the New Vintage Big Band, from noon-2 p.m., at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow as they perform a free show in field 6/6A.
Friday, Aug. 8
Long Island Philharmonic
Part of the Music Under the Stars concert series, on Aug. 8, come to Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow at 7 p.m. for a free performance by the Long Island Philharmonic. The concert will include works by Tchaikovsky, Morton Gould, and Howard Shore, with tenor Christopher Macchio and violinist Gregor Kitzis on musical saw. Admission is free and open to the public. There will also be a fireworks display following the performance.
Saturday, Aug. 9
Pasta Dinner and Comedy Night
On Aug. 9, join the Forgotten Friends of Long Island, from 6-10:30 p.m., for this fundraiser event at Levittown Hall, 201 Levittown Pkwy in Hicksville. Admission is $25 per person at the door or $20 in advance. There will be homemade pasta, salad and desserts served as well as a 50/50 and a raffle. Funds raised will go to benefit the Forgotten Friends of Long Island for their numerous medical expenses and needs of their new rescues. For more information visit forgottenfriendsoflongisland.org.
Child Safety ID Kit/Passport Day
Come get an identification kit, renew your passport, or get a brand new one, on Aug. 9, when the Town of Hempstead will host its next Passport Day and Child Safety Identification event at the Island Trees Public Library, 38 Farmedge Rd., from 10 a.m.-noon. The event is free and open to the public.
Summer Programs Horseback Riding
Join the Levittown Police Activity League’s exciting instructional program which teaches the fundamentals of riding, tacking and horsemanship. The course consists of five 90 minute sessions available weekeday afternoons and evening at the New York Equestrian Center at Hempstead Lake State Park. Cost is $220 to register.
Sports Camp
The Levittown-Island Trees Youth Council will host a sports camp program for students in grades 4-8 and grades 9-12 from 8-9 a.m. every weekday from now through Aug. 22. For more information contact the Island Trees Director of Physical Education and Athletics at 516-520-2173.
Chorus
From now through July 25, the Island Trees Memorial Middle School will be holding a summer program for students in grades 4-12 who wish to learn vocal techniques that will help them sing all different styles of music.
Most of all this program is geared towards the further development of musicianship through a vocal setting. Students will receive one hour of lessons and rehersal a day, all leading up to an exciting concert on July 25. This offering is dependent upon sufficient student enrollment and is limited to the first 40 applicants.
