A 20-year-old woman was hospitalized Saturday after her vehicle was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train in Huntington Station, the MTA said.

The woman, who was not identified, was taken to Huntington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Oakwood Road, he said.

The woman’s car “somehow became stuck” on the track, Donovan said, and sustained a “glancing” blow from the oncoming train.

MTA police investigators have yet to determine why the car was stuck on the tracks.

Police are continuing their investigation.

The railroad halted service on the Port Jefferson branch shortly after. Service on that branch remained suspended in both directions between Hicksville and Huntington until just before 10 a.m.
