MercyFirst raised more than $160,000 at its Annual Spring Golf Outing held at Tam O’Shanter Club in Brookville and The Creek in Locust Valley. This past May, more than 200 participants from across the county came to spend a day on the greens, while helping to raise funds for the abused, traumatized and neglected children MercyFirst serves.
Following the day of golf, the participants enjoyed an awards ceremony and a presentation made by one of MercyFirst’s youth, the President/CEO, Gerard McCaffery and Board of Trustees Chair, Kevin Shine.
The Annual Spring Golf Outing supports MercyFirst’s range of programs, which include family support and after-school programs, foster homes and adoption services, community homes and campus-based residential treatment programs, medical and mental-health care, as well as the innovative Bridges to the Future, a range of specialized skills development and workforce preparation experiences designed to help adolescents learn to be self-sufficient.
