Obituary: John P. Pedranghelu

John P. Pedranghelu died on Aug. 1, 2014, at age 82, of Hicksville. Beloved husband of Lydia. Loving father of John (Carol) and Joanne Pedranghelu. Cherished grandfather of Christine, John and Paul Pedranghelu, Erik Hilliker (Kari) and Jennifer Connors (Joseph). Dear brother of Santi Salvi (Armand) and Josie DeMeo. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbors. John was born and raised in Port Washington and was a former semi-pro football player. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt aircraft carrier during the Korean War. He was a retired fuel oil truck driver who enjoyed golf, travel and sports. John was a dedicated family man who was admired and loved by all. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 4007 Boston, MA 0224-7005.
