Standards Singer At Library Gala

singerThe Port Washington Library will host its foundation’s Eleventh Inspiration Gala, “Celebrating Our Five-Star Library,” Saturday, Sept. 20, at 6:30 p.m.

The sponsors promise an “unforgettable performance by great American standards singer Nick Ziobro, a 17-year-old music sensation” whose debut album A Lot of Liven’ To Do was produced by Michael Feinstein. Nick won the 2012 Michael Feinstein Great American Songbook Competition.

When he made his New York debut at Feinstein’s, The New York Times praised him for “an easy swinging confidence and charm that suggested he could evolve into another Michael Bublé.”

Ziobro has earned a host of rave reviews around the country. He was hailed as “a budding young talent” by LA Weekly, and called “a radiant presence” by Edge Los Angeles, “absolutely breathtaking” by the Carmel Current, and “stunning” by the Napa Valley Register.

“Based on the sustained applause and roar of the crowd that followed his performance, it’s safe to say that many in the sold-out house knew that they had just witnessed the emergence of a bona fide star,” Examiner.com said.

Since its inception, the Port Washington Library Foundation has donated over $1.5 million to the library to fund a number of programs and projects not covered by taxpayer dollars.

Tickets to this event are $250 and sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information, call 883-4400, Ext. 180, or go on the foundation’s website at pwpl.org/foundation.
