Three people were arrested for petit larceny, aggravated harassment and criminal possession of drugs which occurred in Roslyn Heights beginning Monday, August 11 at 8 p.m., police say.
According to detectives, Jay Capodiferro, 29, of Roslyn Heights, along with Janine Devlin, 29, of Albertson, took assorted pieces of jewelry from a female victim, while in the victim’s home in Roslyn Heights.
Capodiferro, police say, also harassed and stalked the female victim over a period of time.
On Sunday, August 24, Capodiffero attempted to sell the jewelry as an exchange for drugs to Stephen Devita, 29, of Mineola, according to police. At the time of his arrest, police say Devita was found to be in possession of stolen jewelry, several opiate pills and approximately 11 grams of heroin. Partial jewelry proceeds were recovered and returned to the victim.
Capodiferro is being charged with two counts of Petit Larceny, Stalking 3rd Degree and Aggravated Harassment 2nd Degree. Devlin is being charged with Petit Larceny. Devita is being charged with three counts of Criminal Possession Controlled Substance. All three defendants will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead.
