Noted Author To Speak At Landmark

authorNew York Times bestselling author Philippa Gregory will be touring in the United States in September and Port Washington is her first stop.

She will be discussing The King’s Curse (on sale Sept. 9) which follows Henry VIII’s rise to power. The King’s Curse is the next volume of Gregory’s Cousins’ War novels, basis for the Starz series, The White Queen.

The novel takes place in the aftermath of the bloody clash between York and Lancaster, when the Tudors have ascended to the throne.

Gregory is the author of several bestselling novels, including The Other Boleyn Girl.

She studied history at the University of Sussex and received a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh.

The free event will take place at Landmark on Main Street, 232 Main St., on Monday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. and is co-sponsored with Friends of the Library. The appearance is part of the Conversations From Main Street Series, sponsored by the Angela & Scott Jaggar Foundation. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
