Are you interested in improving your musical skills, meeting other musicians, and/or performing? If so, the Town of North Hempstead has the perfect opportunity for you! North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board, in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Department announce The Children’s Pops Orchestra will be holding auditions on Sept. 20 and 21 with 11 rehearsals to follow beginning Oct. 7 at Michael J. Tully Park.
“This is such a fantastic opportunity to bring young musicians together from all over the Town of North Hempstead,” said Supervisor Bosworth.
The Children’s Pop Orchestra is unique because it performs all styles of music from classic to pop to jazz. Acceptance to the orchestra is based on a performance of a solo selection, some orchestra experience, and the completion of NYSSMA level 4 or higher. There is no age limit and all instrument positions are available.
