Football and food lovers of all ages filed into Delicacies Gourmet of Roslyn during Customer Appreciation Day held earlier this month. Customers got autographs from NFL player Sean Landeta and ESPN’s NFL reporter Adam Schefter while enjoying free food.
Jimmy Zanfardino, Delicacies Gourmet of Roslyn owner, was pleased that everyone had a blast.
“We love our customers and the community. The day was meant to bring everyone together to enjoy great food, football and themselves,” said Zanfardino. “We are celebrating the opening of football season right, and I’m very happy that Adam and Sean were involved.

Residents were delighted to meet these NFL celebrities. Ross Barish of Roslyn was among the many who enjoyed Customer Appreciation Day with his family.
“It was a great family activity at one of our favorite places to eat. My kids really had a fun time, and they got to get an autograph souvenir,” Barish said.
Landeta of Manhasset was glad to bring smiles to the faces of community members at a deli that he likes to eat at. Landeta played almost half of his career for the New York Giants, where he won two championship rings in Superbowl XXI and XXV.
“It’s not by accident that they have the best deli in the area. I’ve known this deli for several years and the food and employees are wonderful,” said Landeta. “It’s nice to kick off the NFL season with the Roslyn community.”
Schefter joined ESPN as an NFL insider in 2009, and he appears on a variety of programs including NFL Live. He also was happy to be a part of the celebration.
“The deli wanted to kick off the NFL season in a grand style. I’m honored to be a part of this community event, to talk to people about football, sign autographs, and to help bring in the season,” he said.
Zanfardino hopes his customers enjoyed the event.
“We are proud of our loyal customers. I hope they enjoyed themselves,” he said.
Erin Zanfardino, an employee, said, “We had a blast, it was great to see everyone come out to celebrate.”
