A 31-year-old Far Rockaway man was shot dead in Hempstead on Wednesday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

A passerby found Troy Bell suffering from a gunshot wound on the corner of Linden Avenue and South Franklin Road at 12:23 p.m., police said.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
