This September the Art Guild will once again be running classes, workshops, exhibits and more at home at Elderfields Preserve. The Art Guild had suffered serious consequences resulting from a fire following Superstorm Irene in August 2011. The guild finished installing a fire safety system that meets the Fire Marshal’s codes for public assembly. Members are busy sprucing up Elderfields for the exciting re-opening.
The Art Guild is opening with a “Welcome Home: Members’ Exhibit” and reception on Sunday, Sept. 21, 3 – 6 p.m. This homecoming is long overdue and the guild is very excited to get back to its creative mission.
A lot is in the works. The board and gallery committee have decided on a yearlong theme of “Home.’”
Check out the Art Guild website at www.TheArtGuild.org and their Facebook page throughout the year for information about new and exciting programs, many with the theme of “Home.”
Maya Angelou said “I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself.” Find yourself at home at The Art Guild. Take a class, participate in an exhibition, come to a lecture, volunteer your time, attend a workshop, or just come setup an easel on our lovely grounds and paint.
The entire Art Guild Board will be on hand to welcome artists home.
