Practice, practice, practice and you will end up singing at Carnegie Hall. That’s what members of Green Vale’s Select Chorus did this past summer and according to Jessica Chen, Choral Director, “It was an amazing experience. The guest conductor, Emily Ellsworth, was extremely engaging and inspiring and our singers were on the edge of their seats — even through 3-hour rehearsals. The 25-minute performance was spectacular.”
Chen added, “Green Vale’s students were joined by several choruses from other parts of the country, some of which were older and more advanced, which was wonderful because it opened our students’ ears to what’s possible. They were all thrilled with the final performance and feedback from parents and friends who were in awe.” As one parent said, “I had no idea! I wasn’t expecting anything like this! Oh my goodness; it was beautiful!”
In addition to the Select Chorus, student clubs at Green Vale offer enrichment in many areas – rocketry, health and wellness, chess, sustainability, organic gardening and community service to name just a few.
