The second annual rUNDEAD 5K Zombie Run will take place on Nov. 8 at Brady Park, located at 1000 Lakeshore Drive, Massapequa.
The rUNDEAD 5K Zombie Race is a twist on a traditional marathon; runners will be equipped with belts and attached flags representing their lifelines, and will have to navigate a course that is populated by zombies – other rUNDEAD participants who will try to steal flags from the runners as they pass. Those runners who reach the finish line with at least one flag will be qualified to earn prizes.
Once a runner loses all three flags, they are “dead” and the zombies have won. While the runner can still finish the race, they will not be eligible for awards or prizes.
Day of registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and you can opt to register as a runner or a zombie. Each runner and zombie will receive access to the course, race day festivities and an official rUNDEAD race day T-shirt.
Every zombie will be transformed in the “Mob Tent.” The first heat starts at 10:30 a.m.
