Seniors Lead Lady Dragons

This season the Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team at Division Avenue has the rare ability to fill every position on the field with a member of the senior class. All 11 seniors have made contributions to the success of this year’s squad.

On Oct. 15, with the help of some of the Blue Dragon seniors, the girls were able to defeat Friends Academy 1-0. The lone goal of the game was scored by senior stopper Ellen Sioris on a direct kick from 25 yards out. Other seniors helping in this shutout and defensively throughout the season were Jac McCreary, Krysten Garcia, Gabi Caba, and Ryan Kenney. Senior goalie Morgan Ward recorded her fourth shutout of the season with three saves off breakaways in the last five minutes of the game.

Controlling the midfield for the senior class this year were Mellisa Pedreros, Keleyna Romoleroux, and Bianca Ortiz, while Faith Ginther and Erin Morris helped power the Dragon Offense.

On Oct. 21, the Lady Dragons played their annual senior game. For the first time in the history of the girls’ soccer program, the Lady Dragons had a starting lineup made up of entirely seniors.
