SEPTA Meeting

The next meeting of the Farmingdale Special Education PTA will be held on Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. at Northside Elementary School, 55 Powell Pl. in Farmingdale.

Farmingdale Hawks

The next meeting of the Farmingdale Hawks football team will be held on Nov. 20, from 8:30-10 p.m., at Village Hall, 361 Main St. 

Friday, Nov. 21

Les Miserables

On Nov. 21 and 22, witness the Farmingdale High School production of the Broadway musical Les Miserables, the classic story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant, who breaks parole after serving nineteen years in prison for stealing a loaf of bread for his sister’s starving child. The performance will be held in the high school auditorium at 7 p.m. For tickets and information contact Farmingdale High School at 516-752-6600.

 

The Wedding Singer

On Nov. 21 and 22, join the Backstage Theatre Company, for a performance of The Wedding Singer, a musical adaptation of the 1998 film starring Adam Sandler, at SUNY Farmingdale State College, 2350 Broad Hollow Rd. Doors open at 8 p.m. General admission is $10, seniors and non-Farmingdale College students $5. 

Saturday, Nov. 22

Holiday Parade

On Nov. 22, join the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce at noon, for its annual holiday parade down Main Street. Afterwards, visit Santa Claus at the Village Green, who will be handing out candy canes to all the boys and girls. 

 

Bowling for Equality

On Nov. 22, join the Human Rights Campaign of Long Island from 7 to 10 p.m., for an evening of bowling, raffles, prizes and more at the Farmingdale Lanes, 999 Conklin St. Admission is $30 per person or $100 for four. For more information contact communityevents@hrc.org. 

 Monday, Nov. 24

Long Island Fight for Charity

Get ready for one of Long Island’s largest and most anticipated charity networking events, on Nov. 24, at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Long Island, 598 Route 110 in Melville, when 20 local business professionals will go toe-to-toe in a boxing match for charity. All of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Long Island Community Chest, the Genesis School and the National Foundation for Human Potential. General admission is $150 and VIP seats are $225. 

 

Queen: Rock Montreal (1981)

On Nov. 24, catch Freddy Mercury and company, at 7 p.m., when the legendary rock band Queen will hit the big screen at the Farmingdale Multiplex Cinemas, 1001 Broad Hollow Rd., for this one time only screening of their 1981 performance at the Forum in Montreal. Tickets are $13.50 and are available at the box office or online at movietickets.com.

Thanksgiving Eve Party

On Nov. 26, come to the Carlyle on the Green, 99 Quaker Meeting House Rd. in Bethpage, at 7:30 p.m., for an evening of food, drinks and live music by That 70s Band. Admission is $20.

Join the Village of Farmingdale at 6 p.m., on Dec. 2, for the lighting of the Tri-Centennial Christmas tree on the Village Green.
