On Nov. 26, come to the Carlyle on the Green, 99 Quaker Meeting House Rd. in Bethpage, at 7:30 p.m., for an evening of food, drinks and live music by That 70s Band. Admission is $20.

Board of Trustees Meeting

The next meeting of the Village of Farmingdale will be held on Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. at Village Hall, 361 Main St. A public work session will preceed the meeting at 7 p.m. 

 

PAL Unit

The next meeting of the Farmingdale Police Activity League will be held on Dec. 1, at 7 p.m., at the PAL clubhouse, 31 N. Front St., in Farmingdale.

Tri-Centennial Tree Lighting 

Join the Village of Farmingdale at 6 p.m., on Dec. 2, for the lighting of the Tri-Centennial Christmas tree on the Village Green.

High School Honor Society Induction

On Dec. 4, Farmingdale High School will host a ceremony, at 5:30 p.m. in the commons for National Honor Society inductees. 

Middle School Orchestra Concert

On Dec. 4, Howitt Middle School orchestra students in grades 6 through 8 will take the stage at 7 p.m., for their winter recital.

Gerngras Park Tree Lighting 

Join the Village of Farmingdale at 6 p.m., on Dec. 5, for the rededication and annual tree lighting ceremony at Gerngras Park. 

Saturday, Dec. 6

Christmas Fair

On Dec. 6 and 7, the St. William the Abbot School at 2001 Jackson Ave. in Seaford, will hold its annual Christmas fair, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring more than 60 artisans with hundreds of sale items, hot and cold food, fresh evergreen wreaths, attic treasures, baked goods, raffle prizes, 50/50 and of course, a visit from Santa Claus. 

 

St. Luke’s Tree Lighting

On Dec. 6, join St. Luke’s Luteran Church, 190 Conklin St. in Farmingdale, at 4 p.m. for its annual tree lighting ceremony. There will be crafts for children and adults, gingerbread ornaments, advent wreaths, candles and more. Visit with St. Nicholas and enjoy cocoa and cookies. For more information call 516-249-1220.

Annual Sankta Lucia Festival

The next meeting of the Village of Farmingdale Zoning Board will be held on Dec. 11, at 8 p.m., at Village Hall, 361 Main St. in Farmingdale. 

Saturday, Dec. 13

Long Island Gingerbread Competition

On Dec. 13, the Chocolate Duck, 310 Main St. in Farmingdale, will host the second annual Long Island Gingerbread House Competition. Judging will begin at 9 a.m. and is closed to the general public. At noon, the exhibition will open to the public, with an awards presentation at 4:30 p.m.

 

This year’s theme is “the Gold Coast era,” and will feature structures inspired by the Gold Coast Mansions, Old Westbury Gardens, Sagamore Hill, Bayard Cutting Arboretum, the Great Gatsby House and more.
