The Mill Neck Family of Organizations is inviting members of the community, friends and family to join them in support of #GivingTuesday (www.givingtuesday.org) on Dec. 2. This global phenomenon, founded in 2012, is a worldwide initiative for celebrating generosity and giving back. And it’s simple. Just find some way for your family, community, company or organization to join together and give something back. Then tell everyone about it.
Here are some creative ways you can give and help support the services provided by the Mill Neck Family: give time to volunteer; take time to learn the third most popular language studied in the United States–American Sign Language; give an internship opportunity to one of their Deaf Education Center high school students in the vocational training program; give a job opportunity to one of the adult deaf clients seeking employment through Mill Neck Services; give the organization a louder voice by inviting 10 of your friends to join their e-news mailing list; give them some love (or a “like”) on social media and encourage friends to do the same; give a donation of $100 to support the Mill Neck organizations; or give a donation of $100 to support their organizations by getting 10 of your friends to each give $10.
The Mill Neck Family is very excited to be part of #Giving Tuesday. It just may be the best gift you give (back) to yourself this holiday season.
