The members of the Massapequa Park Lions Club will host a meet and greet gathering on Monday, Dec. 8 to introduce themselves to prospective members interested in joining. Chartered in 1956, the Massapequa Park Lions Club is part of the world’s largest service organization. With more than 1.35 million members in over 46,000 clubs, Lions are dedicated to improving the quality of life for those in need at home and abroad.
The Massapequa Park Lions work with the Veterans Administration Northport, St. Rose of Lima food pantry, among others, to assist neighbors through difficult times. The club also supports Vision Missions to South America, active duty overseas military care packages and an annual Massapequa High School Scholarship for community oriented graduating seniors. As “Knights of the Blind,” the Massapequa Park Lions help fund the costly training of guide dogs, support Visions Camp for the blind, diabetes research, and deliver the gift of sight as cornea transporters.
The club consists of men and women from all walks of life committed to helping others while strengthening the bonds of friendship and community. Those interested in enriching their own lives through service should contact Lions Liz and Bill Hilton at 516-513-0780 or Email MassapequaParkLions@gmail.com for further details.
