Movie: Begin Again
British songwriter Gretta is adrift in Manhattan after getting dumped by her philandering rock star boyfriend. While playing at an open mic night at a local bar, she is discovered by struggling music producer Dan. Sensing her songwriting potential, Dan pushes Gretta to sign with him and record an ambitious outdoors album all across the city. Tree Lighting
Planting Fields invites you to its 10th annual tree lighting and visit from Santa on Dec. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. Free admission, activities and parking. The tree will be lit at 6 p.m. sharp. Enjoy caroling by the Barber Shop Quartet, Hot Cocoa and refreshments at the Hay Barn/Visitor Center, Coe Hall decorated for the season will be open for self-guided visits. Visit with Santa until 7:30 p.m. in the Hay Barn.
Movie Night
St. Dominic High School’s National Honor Society hosts a Christmas movie night featuring Elf, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Cost is $12 for the first child, $10 for each additional child; snacks and drinks included.

OBHS Holiday Open House
The Oyster Bay Historical Society, 20 Summit St., hosts its annual holiday event starting with a Holiday Concert at 4 p.m. at the Hood A.M.E. Zion Church at 137 South St. in Oyster Bay. Voci da Camera
Kathleen Blixt and the ensemble of 20 professional singers will present unaccompanied choral music, the purest form of choral expression on Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. Voci da Camera began performing at Christ Church and have expanded their concert venues nationwide and overseas. Coe Hall Holiday Weekend Begins
Experience Coe Hall decorated in holiday style from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. See Santa, make an old-fashioned gingerbread house, listen to the Madrigal Singers, and watch Frosty the Snow Man by Plaza Theatrical Productions (in the Great Hall at 2:30 p.m., both days) included in the $10 admission fee. See the poinsettia and Cyclamen display at the Main Greenhouse.
Gingerbread House
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., every hour on the hour, 10 children per session, first come, first served, will make a Gingerbread House in the former servants’ dining room at Coe Hall. Cookies and juice served, while they make their own gingerbread house to take home.

Christmas Event for Children
North Shore Assembly of God, 84 Orchard St. in Oyster Bay, will be hosting a Children’s Christmas Musical and Pizza Party Event, Sunday, Dec. 14, at 10:30 a.m. Come and enjoy the Children’s Performance of the ABC’s of Christmas, followed by pizza, cupcakes and a free gift for all children 12 years old and under. Christmas Concert
The Prinz Music Studio presents a Christmas Concert benefiting the Youth & Family Counseling Agency of Oyster Bay and New Life Center Christmas Giving Program in Uniondale, to support local Long Island community families in need, at 4 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church & School, 99 Central Park Rd., Plainview.
