South Grove Elementary hosted their annual Thanksgiving Feast on Tuesday, Nov. 25. In the Annex, Kindergarteners and first-graders all dressed up as pilgrims and Native Americans, while the teachers and staff wore turkey aprons. The children enjoyed a wonderful meal with all of the fixings—each class made a different delicious side dish that they enjoyed with their distinguished guests.
Members of the Syosset Fire Department and Police Department sat at the dais, as well as a World War II veteran who has been attending the South Grove Feast for years. The highlight of the party was when the children performed Thanksgiving songs and dances, led by South Grove’s music teacher Dr. Conklin.

In the Main building, all remaining grades enjoyed their turkey meal together in the gym beautifully decorated for the occasion. Members of the PTA, teachers and the support staff worked tirelessly to make this event a success. This year’s Thanksgiving Feast really helped the whole community get into the holiday spirit.
