On Sunday, Dec. 7, as the dusk turned to twilight, the village streets of Munsey Park, Flower Hill and Plandome were lit by the glowing candles lined up in front of residences and lining streets. With the efforts of the Flower Hill Women’s Club, Munsey Park Women’s Club and Plandome Women’s Club and coordinated by Tara Kirkwood who originally brought Light the Night To Munsey Park five years ago, the evening was a vibrant success.
The evening which was thankfully dry had a fierce wind, but the lighting results were extraordinary.
“Residents really got into the spirit of the evening, with families walking and driving around to see the lights. The entire village green was illuminated too. As you can see, one family had their fire pit going to warm up passers-by,” said Plandome Women’s Club President Annie Vetrone. “We’re really so happy to bring this great tradition to Plandome and look forward to many years of Light the Night!”
Santa came to visit and check out the scene and wave to children and passersby.
