The recent murder of two NYPD officers have left not only New York City with a broken heart, but Long Island as well.
To add to the violence, a veteran Florida police officer died on Sunday, Dec. 21 after being gunned down and run over with a car by a felon.
Officer Charles Kondek, a 45-year-old married father of six, was killed in Tarpon Springs, after responding to a noise complaint around 2 a.m. EST, the local police department said. Kondek was a native of Long Island and grew up in North Massapequa. He graduated from Plainedge High School and previously as an officer for the NYPD.
Our hearts go out to the of the NYPD, their families and all officers killed in the line of duty.
