Vincent Interrante, the Mineola School District’s Academically Gifted Program Educator for Jackson Avenue and Mineola Middle School, is also a master trainer for Microsoft and has been recognized as a global leader in using technology to increase productivity and transform education for students.
He was selected as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIE) for 2015 for his excellence in using technology to help students learn and achieve more, and ultimately succeed in a mobile-first, cloud-first world.
Each year, Microsoft selects MIE Experts to be part of an exclusive global community that is paving the way for their peers to share ideas, trying new approaches and learning from each other. This year, Microsoft selected more than 800 thought leaders in innovative learning who possess the technology skills and desire to amplify their reach and voice.
In the spring of 2011, Interrante piloted an Acer Netbook program for the district and participated in the United States Innovative Educator Forum, where he collaborated with other educators from around the nation. At the time, he was one of only approximately 250 Innovative Educators in the United States.
That year, he was also one of 50 teachers from 31 countries worldwide, and one of only two from the U.S., to participate in the Global Innovative Educator Forum.
