Hillel International President and CEO Eric Fingerhut is visiting Temple Sinai of Roslyn at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8 (snow date Tuesday, Jan. 13). Fingerhut will speak about “Israel on Campus: Facing Unique Challenges in a Threatening World.” The evening will include a posttalk question-and-answer session.
Visiting Long Island from Hillel’s Washington D.C. headquarters, Fingerhut will address his organization’s role in helping students proudly hone their personal identity while learning to effectively counter anti-Israel rhetoric that they may encounter in academic and social settings.
Hillel International, now 90 years old, provides a nondenominational home for Jewish students. Fingerhut, who joined Hillel in 2013, has devoted his entire professional life to public service and higher education.
College students who are home for winter vacation, teens and adults are invited to hear Hillel’s advice firsthand. There is no charge to attend.
The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Long Island has joined with Temple Sinai to encourage the entire community to hear Fingerhut of Hillel address this timely and important issue.
Temple Sinai of Roslyn is at 425 Roslyn Rd., Roslyn Heights. For more information about the program, contact Ethel Liebeskind at 516-621-6800.
