The body of a white male was found in the woods in Herricks on Monday, Nassau County police said.
The male, who has yet to be identified, was discovered dead in the vicinity of Old Searingtown Road and Searingtown Road at 1:40 p.m., police said. He was wearing black pants, a tan olive jacket, blood hooded sweatshirt and blue sneakers.
The body was taken to the medical examiner’s office, where the cause of death will be determined.
