The Woodward Parkway Elementary School jazz band recently visited the Corona, Queens home of American trumpeter, singer and influential jazz musician Louis Armstrong. Band director Erica Hartmann described the visit as a wonderful day for students who toured the home, watched a short film, viewed artifacts and heard actual conversations with Armstrong himself. They even saw his classic trumpet.
