The Emergency Ambulance Bureau reports the details of a childbirth that occurred on Monday, January 26, 2015 in Manhasset. Snow baby born to excited father and cold mother!
Nassau County Police Department, Communications Bureau transferred a call to Medical Control located at Nassau University Medical Center for a female in labor in an auto on Northern Boulevard. The Nassau County Police Department Ambulance Medical Technician answered the call and had an excited father on the phone stating the baby was coming out.
The AMT was able to calm the father down, talk him through the delivery and gave him instructions for drying and warming the baby.
The father was able to follow the instructions of the AMT and care for the infant until a Nassau County Ambulance arrived. Both mother and baby were transported to a local hospital and were reported to be doing fine.
