Lessening Your Financial Hit

At 7 p.m., Barry Lisak will present a seminar to help reduce your federal and New York State taxes. Lisak is an enrolled IRS agent and tax professional. He is currently the tax columnist for New York’s civil service paper The Chief. The new ObamaCare Laws as well as all new federal and State tax laws enacted this year will be discussed.

The booklet Last Minute Tax Strategies will be distributed to all attendees. Other topics that will be covered include education, retirement, home ownership, charitable, medical, investment, employee and miscellaneous deductions. Remember to bring a pad and pencil. Plaza Theatrical Production Of Peter Pan

At 1 p.m., the recreation and parks department will have a performance of Peter Pan by the well-known Plaza Theatrical Productions. This performance will be held in St. Paul’s Cluett Hall. Join Peter Pan and Wendy as they fly through this timeless classic. Tickets are $2, payable at the door, but reservations are necessary by calling the recreation and parks office at 516-465-4075.

Marvelous Movie Matinée

A screening of the 2001 drama 13 Conversations About One Thing starring Alan Arkin, John Turturro and Matthew McConaughey will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Garden City Public Library. The event will be held in Meeting Room B. Funding is provided by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. The library is located at 60 7th St. For more information, please call 516-742-8405.

Trip To Resorts World Casino At Aqueduct Raceway  

Participants will travel on the recreation bus for this trip. The cost of the trip will be $5. The package is not known at this time so please watch for further updates. Please note, once the fees are sent to the venues, they are not refundable so make your selections carefully. All trips are open to senior residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City only. Defensive Driving Courses

Six-hour course conducted by AAA Northeast in the Garden City office located at 229 7th St. After March 1, courses will be held in Homewood Suites by Hilton located at 40 Westbury Ave. in Carle Place. Clutterers Anonymous

Clutterers Anonymous (CLA), a 12-step self-help group, offers help and support to those who have clutter problems in their homes or workplace.
