Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington’s annual fundraising gala will serve as occasion to honor the Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation, Susan Goldman and Lisa Grossman.

Residents chose the three for  their altruism and deep devotion to Port Washington, said Mindy Germain, executive director of  the organization.

The Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation supports a myriad of causes across the country, but the majority of its giving stays in Port Washington. For instance, of the more than 50 organizations the foundation donated to in 2014, nearly 40 are in Port and adjacent communities.

The foundation’s past support for Residents helped fund the LIRR garden, Party in the Park, Cinema
on the Bay and school environmental programs. Aside from donations made through the year for various Residents initiatives, the Dejana Foundation is underwriting the
2015 gala.

Goldman, after helping Residents with a beach cleanup five years ago that resulted in a “Trash Talkin’” exhibit along Bay Walk, has become ever more involved with its initiatives. As a Residents’ environmental educator, Goldman has created opportunities for Schreiber Tree Huggers’ deep appreciation for the environment to serve as a role model for elementary school students.

She has become a board member, where she helps support all programs and events. Goldman also shares her passion for educating Port’s
youth by serving on the Weber Compact Committee. After decades working in the hotel service industry, Goldman recently became a regional sales manager for Bluebox Security, a mobile data security firm. She lives in Port Washington with her husband Mark and their twins, Max and Samantha.

As treasurer of Guggenheim School’s Home School Association, Port Washington Education Foundation Advisory Board member, trustee of the Community Synagogue board, and a former director of the Parent Resource Center, Grossman juggles many hats.

She has devoted countless hours and talent
to Residents by serving as its environmental education program manager, playing a role in bringing a variety of environmental education programs to Port Washington school children
in varying grades.

All of her experiences and tenacity for getting a job done extremely well have been excellent preparation for Grossman in her new role as director of development for Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington, Germain said. She lives in Port Washington with her husband Jeff and their daughters Maya and Sabrina.

The event is to be held Friday, March 20, at
7 p.m., at Leonard’s in Great Neck.
