Taking A Visual Stroll Through Long Island

“Visions of Scenic Long Island” will be exhibited by photographer Robert T. Bloom through Feb. 27 in the Garden City Public Library’s gallery at 60 Seventh St. In addition to being a published author and composer (he composed the theme song for the 1984 International Games for the Disabled), Robert T. Bloom is a published photographic artist concentrating on scenic Long Island landscapes and seascapes. “Photographic Art” is a hybrid art form which combines photography and computer facilitated painting. By applying a creative editing process, his digital photo images are transformed into artistic works that resemble paintings. Using this compelling technique, Bloom has attempted to capture the charm and elegance of Long Island’s scenery in a comprehensive body of work. His artwork has been accepted for 85 solo artist exhibitions at universities, libraries, book stores, regional shopping centers, bank branches, restaurants, government offices, adult homes and community centers throughout Long Island. In addition, he has served as a judge in juried art competitions and maintains art galleries on two Internet websites.

Exhibits are free and open to the public during regular library hours. For hours and directions please call 516-742-8405 or visit www.gardencitypl.org. Funding for exhibitions is provided by The Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Installation and removal dates are subject to change.
