As part of their support for the American Heart Association (AHA), students and staff at Dutch Lane Elementary School in the Hicksville School District observed National Wear Red Day to spread awareness for women’s health.
In addition to donating funds to the AHA, the Dutch Lane community decorated the school fence with the words “Go Red” using red plastic cups, each of which was put into place by a different student.
“This community project has enabled each child to literally have a hand in this project,” said principal Susan Strauss. “We have worked together to show everyone that we support a heart-healthy lifestyle.”
