The Mineola Junior Fire Department traveled upstate on the weekend of of Feb.14-16 to snowtube. Staying in an indoor waterpark with a variety of rides and snow tubing on West End slope ski resort made it a combination of summer and winter during this exciting weekend.
It was a pleasant stay at the lodge which was its cleanness and hospitality of the staff that made the three days beyond expectations. On the first night, juniors went to Lake George to see the winter carnival festival.
A fireworks display over the frozen lake was something to see. The juniors experienced an awesome breakfast at the 1950’s style Johnny Rockets; then it was off to the mountains for an afternoon of snow tubing.
With low temperatures, it definitely was a winter day in the mountains. After snow tubing it was time to have dinner at the Golden Corral buffet. The rest of the night was spent together playing games.
