Event chairperson and Town Clerk Wayne Wink said, “I am proud to honor these outstanding women for their great contributions to North Hempstead. Each of these women reflects the best that our communities have to offer and they deserve to be recognized for their efforts.”

“North Hempstead has no shortage of inspirational women who give so much of themselves
to their communities,” said Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “We are fortunate to call these
18 honorees part of our North Hempstead family.”

Great Neck honorees include Glenda Artsis, Janet Esagoff, Gloria Nachmanoff, Ethel Pomerantz and Fern Weiss.

Since 1994, North Hempstead has held the Women’s Roll of Honor breakfast to honor women who have made a contribution to their community, or have accomplished a significant achievement through public or private efforts.

North Hempstead (and Great Neck) resident Shirley Romaine will continue the tradition of reciting an inspirational message at the breakfast.

If you would like to attend the Women’s Roll of Honor Breakfast, you must contact the town clerk’s office at 516-869-7646 to reserve a seat. The event remains free of charge and reservations will be available on a first come, first served basis.
