Cops are investigating whether a robbery in Hicksville on Sunday is connected to a string of gas station robberies and the murder of a Jericho gas station attendant in January.
According to authorities, a gun toting suspect robbed the Green Apple Gas Station on Newbridge Road in Hicksville at 6:30 p.m. The suspect is described as standing at 6’0″ tall, with a slim build and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, navy blue sweatpants with a white stripe on each leg, gloves and a black bandana covering his face. He fled on foot westbound on W. Nicholai Street. No injuries were reported.
Detectives say they are treating this incident as the reemergence of a serial gas station gangster wanted for knocking off 1o gas stations in Hicksville, Westbury and Jericho from December through February.
Hany Awad, an attendant at a Jericho BP station, was shot and killed during a holdup in January.
