The Floral Park Woman’s Club will hold its meeting on Wednesday, March 18 at the recreation center at 12:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. After the regular business meeting portion, the club will acknowledge the work being done by Operation Smile, an international organization dedicated to helping children with facial abnormalities. The Village of Floral Park will hold its public meeting of the Board of Trustees on Thursday, March 19, at 8 p.m. at the village hall.


Friday, March 20

The Sewanhaka High School Spring Performance will be held on Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21.


Saturday, March 21

Lions Club District 20-K2 Annual “Just 4 Women Expo” will be held on Saturday, March 21 at the Floral Park Memorial High School from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Town of Hempstead’s S.T.O.P. (Stop Throwing Out Pollutants) program on March 21 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Eisenhower Park in parking field #3 in East Meadow.

Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages will host her second annual Women of Distinction Luncheon on Sunday, March 22, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Elmont Memorial High School, at 555 Ridge Rd. in Elmont, in honor of Women’s History Month. The event is free and open to the community. Reserve seating at 516-599-2972.

Tuesday, March 24

Hempstead Town Board will meet on March 24 at 10:30 a.m. at  Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion, 1 Washington St., Hempstead.

Sewanhaka Central High School District’s board of education meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 24, at 8 p.m. at Sewanhaka High School, at Tulip and Covert avenues.

Floral Park Memorial High School will present Hairspray The Musical on Thursday, March 26, at 4 p.m., on Friday, March 27, at 7 p.m. and again on Saturday, March 28, at 7 p.m. in the school’s auditorium.


Saturday, March 28

Spring is finally here and so it the 47th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by St. Thomas Episcopal Church, on Saturday, March 28, at 1 p.m. at the church, located at 2 Commonwealth Blvd. in Bellerose Village. The rain date will be April 4. Children, ages 4 to 9, may participate. Prizes will be awarded to those who find the specially marked eggs. The Easter bunny may stop by, so bring your camera. A donation of $3 per child is requested. All proceeds will be donated to St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital in Bayside. For information call Adele at 516-775-8291 or the church office at 516-354-6866.

Floral Park Recreation Center’s Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28, begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Recreation Center.

The Nassau North Shore Christian Women’s Club will hold its luncheon on April 7 at 12:15 p.m. at the Jolly Fisherman & Steak House, 25 Main St., in Roslyn. The feature will be Chiropractor Dr. Ann Forte; soloist Jan Dougherty will perform; Rachelle Gilles-Ayala of Big Brothers/Big Sisters will be the guest speaker. The cost of the luncheon is $26. AARP Floral Park Chapter 5224 and the NY Council For the Humanities
