Four students from Saint Dominic Parish made the Nassau County finals of the Knights of Columbus annual free throw contest for 2015.
Saint Dominic C.Y.O. BayHawks team members Hannah McLaughlin, Kaitlyn Aasheim, Thomas Fletcher and Eddie Clark went to the finals on March 1 at Holy Trinity High School.
In addition, the Saint Dominic sixth grade girls C.Y.O. soccer team recently took home the N.S.C.Y.O. Sportsmanship Award.
The kicking Lady BayHawks capped off an “awesome” season, according to coaches, one in which they finished 7-3 and made the playoffs by taking home the most valued award that N.S.C.Y.O. bestows.
“The girls were a great group of team players, and at all times represented our beloved C.Y.O., parish and community in an exemplary manner,” said coaches Brad Weiboldt and Mike Gillen.
As evidenced by this award, which is voted on by opposing coaches, the girls and coaches were true sports-ladies, on and off the field.
