Lecture and Book Signing

Whiskey and Wine Tasting

William de Kooning Workshop

Join the Long Island Children’s Museum for a unique workshop as they explore the life and art of Willem de Kooning, one of the famous artists of the abstract expressionist movement. Participants will create work that they can bring home with them as well as a collaborative piece that will be exhibited at the Long Island Children’s Museum. Grades six and up. Limited to 20 spots. North Shore Reads & National Library Week

Celebrate National Library Week at the Metropolitan in Glen Cove for a lively book discussion of Alice Hoffman’s The Museum of Extraordinary Things. Seven area public libraries will be participating to celebrate with dessert, coffee and raffles. The author, Alice Hoffman, will be there, too. Dessert, coffee and raffles. Artist Talk

The Oyster Bay Historical Society’s winter exhibition’s guest curator Xiomáro will give a gallery talk on his photographic collection in The Other Side at 6:30 p.m. The collection of 29 photographs will be on view until March 29 at the Angela Koenig Center, 20 Summit St., Oyster Bay. Movie At The Library

See The Theory of Everything at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Public Library, 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking falls deeply in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde. Cabaret Project

Infinity Scarf

For grades six through 12. Make a stylish scarf for the spring. Please bring a t-shirt in any color you wish and a sharp pair of scissors to class. You will use colorful beads to design your scarf. Egg Hunt

At Bayville Free Library, 34 School St., Bayville. Two sessions: 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Ages 2-8, limit 50 children per session. Bring your basket and meet the group on the library lawn (rain date is April 4).

Easter Egg Hunt At Raynham Hall Museum

Raynham Hall Museum, at 20 West Main St. in Oyster Bay, will hold its annual Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, March 28. The gates will open promptly at 11 a.m. Children should bring their own baskets for gathering the eggs and parents should bring their camera for the memory. In case of rain, the Easter Bunny will find his way indoors to visit the children. The hunt is best for children ages 3-8. This is a free event. Annual Fabulous Egg Hunt

Eggs plus some fabulous prizes. Come and enjoy the children’s choir, fun activities, search for hundreds of eggs and enjoy ice cream for all. At 10:30 a.m. at North Shore Assembly of God, 84 Orchard St., Oyster Bay. This is a free event; call Pastor Diane at 516-922-2546 for information.

Concert by Blues Guitarist Big Ron Hunter

Guitarist Big Ron Hunter performs at Congregation Tifereth Israel in Glen Cove at 7 p.m. The concert is part of a tour organized by Music Maker Relief Foundation which meets its mission of preserving Southern Roots music by supporting impoverished senior artists, documenting their music and sharing their talents with the world. The concert is free and open to the public; donations are encouraged. Reservations are not needed.
