The New Hyde Park-Mineola Running Club presented a check of $500 to local Boy Scout Troop 298, at the club’s monthly meeting held at Tully Park. Funds were raised as part of the 2014 New Hyde Park Championship 8K Race/Walk, organized by the club.
Troop 298 has assisted the annual community event by manning water stop no. 1, since 1999. The 2015 8K Championship Race/Walk will be held on Sunday, June 7, at the Denton Avenue School.
The race is part of LI Track and Field’s Championship Series, eligible runners also score points with USA Track and Field. Please contact Harold Axelrod for more information 917-750-5992.
