Mineola senior student athlete Mineola High School soccer standout Andrew Pereira recently signed his college letter of intent committing to attend and play soccer at New York Institute of Technology. Pereira took another step toward realizing his dream of playing soccer at the college level.

In addition to being an outstanding goalie, he is also a member of the varsity spring and winter track teams and serves the athletic program as the Mustang mascot.

As a student, Pereira ranks in the top percentage of the graduating class and as an individual he is a highly motivated, well rounded and integral part of many aspects of the Mineola school community.

“NYIT is truly getting a valuable addition to not only their soccer team but to their campus community as a whole,” the athletic department said in a statement.
