Nassau County Police Department detectives reported a fatal
automobile accident last Thursday, March 26, in the Village of Lake Success. Detectives told the Great Neck Record that a female victim was found at 10:45 a.m. on the east sidewalk of Lakeville Road, in the vicinity of Farm Lane in Lake Success. The woman, as yet unidentified by police, was reported as 74 years old.
Police further report that the victim appeared to have been struck by a vehicle and was in cardiac arrest. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:18 a.m., by hospital staff.
Police also report that a witness gave the police a registration plate for a vehicle that could have possibly struck the victim. Lake Success police were able to locate and stop the vehicle a short distance away on East Shore Road. It was determined that the commercial vehicle was involved. Police then impounded the vehicle at the scene.
This investigation is ongoing.
