Movie At The Library
See Imitation Game at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Public Library, 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. During the winter of 1952, British authorities entered the home of mathematician, cryptanalyst and war hero Alan Turing to investigate a reported burglary. They instead ended up arresting Turing himself on charges of ‘gross indecency’, an accusation that would lead to his devastating conviction for the criminal offense of homosexuality. Little did officials know, they were actually incriminating the pioneer of modern-day computing. Starring: Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Mark Strong. Live Animals
From noon to 3 p.m., a live animal presentation will take place at Garvies Point Museum and Preserve in Glen Cove, so kids can observe and learn about animals that live right here in our own “backyard.” You will see the well-known great horned owl, eastern box turtle, eastern screech owl and more. In cooperation with Tackapausha Museum & Preserve. Plus, create animal sand art from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and see the film All About Animal Adaptations (23 mins.).
Book Talk
Authors Bill Bleyer and Harrison Hunt will be speaking about their newly published book, Long Island and the Civil War: Queens, Nassau and Suffolk During the War Between the States, at the Society for the Preservation of Long Island Antiquities/Cold Spring Harbor Library, 95 Cold Spring Harbor Rd., at 7 p.m.

Make Your Own Paint
For children ages 3 to 5, with an adult, at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Public Library, 11 to 11:45 a.m. Love to paint? Make your very own paint from materials found around every home. Science and art combine to create masterpieces to take home with you. Registration began on March 20 for OB-EN residents and begins on April 9 for non-residents, space permitting.
Embossed Metal Encaustics
For children ages 6 and up, at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Public Library, noon to 12:45 p.m. Create a 3D drawing on metal foil and paint it using melted wax. Learn an intriguing and beautiful art form. Registration began on March 20 for OB-EN residents and begins on April 9 for non-residents, space permitting.

Dinosaur Day
Explore the world of dinosaurs at Garvies Point Museum and Preserve, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn about dinosaurs from geologists, see and touch real fossils, try out the fossil “dig”, plus make your own “fossil” to take home. $5/person. Coney Island Revisited
Travel to this special place with this ardent Coney Island historian and memorabilia collector, Paul Brigandi, at Glen Cove Public Library, 11 a.m. Coney Island was more than just an amusement park—it was a fantasy world to which thousands of people escaped for fun and adventure and its history is as varied and interesting as the people who played there. Brigandi will share photographs, video clips and his own recollections. Attendees are encouraged to share their own memories and stories.

Spring Exhibition Reception
The Oyster Bay Historical Society opens its spring exhibition with an afternoon reception from 2 to 5 p.m. in the society’s Angela Koenig Center at 20 Summit St. in Oyster Bay. Ancient Art Form: Contemporary Adaptations in Glass features glass art by members of the Long Island Craft Guild’s Glass Media Group. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of exhibited art supports the programs and exhibitions of the Society’s Angela Koenig Research and Collection Center. Reverse Egg Hunt
Teen program at the Bayville Free Library begins at 2 p.m.: This egg hunt starts with the egg and one clue, then takes participants on a journey throughout the library. Be the first person or team to figure out the last clue and win a basket full of goodies. For ages 12 and up.

Supermarkets And Nutrition
Is supermarket food making you sick? Are you concerned about GMOs, pesticides, artificial chemicals and other toxins in your food? In this workshop, participants will take an imaginary trip through the supermarket aisles and learn how to make healthful real-food choices. Participants will also learn to recognize which items are loaded with hidden GMOs and other hidden toxic ingredients and which foods marketed as “healthy” are not what they seem.
